The Australian Taxation Office March 1 issued a notice withdrawing a tax ruling, as of March 2, on the application of GST to supplies of digital products, made to Australian recipients by nonresident suppliers. The announcement explains that: 1) legislative changes have relieved nonresident suppliers of the obligation to account for GST on certain supplies; 2) current guidance is available on GST for supplies other than goods or real property connected with the indirect tax zone; and 3) current guidance is available for overseas-based suppliers making supplies of services, digital products, or rights to Australian consumers for use in Australia. ...
