Australia Tax Agency Issues Guidance on Self-Managed Superannuation Fund Annual Returns for 2023

The Australian Taxation Office Sept. 7 issued guidance on self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) annual returns for 2023. Topics covered include: 1) lodgment due dates and procedures; 2) a voluntary disclosure form and the procedure for disclosing and correcting errors in returns; 3) clarification of the procedure for amending annual SMSF returns, including the required use of paper return forms for amendments relating to income years 2010–11 or earlier; and 4) the SMSF annual return form and instructions.
