The Australian Taxation Office May 9 opened a consultation on Draft Legislative Instrument No. LI 2024/D6, on the waiver of the tax invoice requirement for a creditable acquisition of a motor vehicle, from a motor vehicle dealer. The draft instrument includes measures to: 1) define relevant terms; 2) relieve qualifying taxpayers of the obligation to hold a tax invoice for creditable acquisitions of a motor vehicle from a motor vehicle dealer; and 3) provide conditions for obtaining relief from holding a tax invoice.
