The Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance April 4 announced tax measures under a crisis package due to the coronavirus pandemic. The announcement includes: 1) a tax exemption for employer-provided bonuses of up to 3,000 euros (US$3,238) during the crisis; 2) tax exemptions on support services for coping with the crisis, from March 1; 3) an exemption for pharmaceutical companies manufacturing disinfectants; 4) a fee exemption for legal work provided during the crisis; 5) tax incentives for retired doctors returning to work; and 6) the maintenance of commuter benefits, even for individuals no longer traveling to work.
