Austrian Finance Minister’s Home Raided in Corruption Probe

Austrian investigators searched the home of Finance Minister Gernot Bluemel on Thursday to clarify whether the People’s Party politician and two other individuals were engaged in corrupt activities.

“The investigation is based on the suspicion that a representative of a gambling company offered donations to a political party in return for support from Austrian government officials related to tax claims in a foreign country,” the prosecutors’ office said in a statement.
