Azerbaijan Economy Ministry Announces Tax Incentives for Public-Private Sector Partnerships in Green Electricity Generation Projects

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy Jan. 8 announced amendments to the Tax Code providing tax incentives related to green electricity generation projects. The announcement includes that the incentives: 1) are for private partners in public-private partnership projects, and for producers in electricity generation projects that use renewable energy sources; and 2) take the form of VAT exemptions on profits, property, land, and imports, for the period specified in the relevant agreements, capped at 30 years.
