Bahamas Gazettes VAT Amendment Act 2023

The Bahamian Official Gazette July 1 posted online VAT Amendment Act, 2023. The law includes measures: 1) requiring homeowners supplying vacation home rentals and associated services, to pay and account for VAT; 2) requiring persons liable to pay and account for VAT to hold the payment in trust and segregated from certain property before remittance, and allowing them to deduct input tax from the amount; 3) allowing withholding agents that are held personally liable by the Comptroller to pay VAT, to appeal to the Tax Appeal Commission; 4) exempting VAT on imports of pleasure vessels if registered in the Bahamas; ...
