Barcelona Suffers Setback in Tax Clash With European Union

Futbol Club Barcelona suffered a setback in a clash with the European Union over allegedly unfair tax breaks in an opinion by an adviser to the bloc’s top court.

Advocate General Giovanni Pitruzzella of the EU Court of Justice advised that lower court judges should re-examine an earlier victory for the soccer giant, according to a non-binding opinion on Thursday.
