Belarus Tax Ministry Posts Letter Clarifying Preferential VAT Rates on Import, Sale of Medical Products

The Belarusian Ministry of Taxes and Duties June 2 posted online Letter No. 16-10/8572, clarifying preferential VAT rates on the import and sale of medical products, applicable from Jan. 1. The letter includes: 1) a 10 percent VAT rate on the import and sale of medical devices; 2) a 20 percent VAT rate on raw materials and components used to produce medical products and equipment; and 3) a list of medical devices and equipment eligible for the preferential rates.
