Belgium MOF Announces Further Extension of Import VAT Exemption on Medical Supplies Due to Coronavirus

The Belgian Federal Public Service-Finance April 29 announced the further extension to Dec. 31 from April 30 for the import VAT exemption on medical supplies used to combat the coronavirus pandemic. The exemption prevails over the: 1) temporarily reduced 6 percent VAT rate on imports of masks and hydroalcoholic gels; and 2) temporary zero-rate VAT on imports of vaccines and in vitro diagnostic coronavirus medical devices.
