Belize Parliament Announces Assent to Fiscal Incentives (Amendment) Act, 2024

The Belizean National Assembly Aug. 13 announced the Governor-General’s assent to Act No. 17/2024, the Fiscal Incentives (Amendment) Act, 2024. The law includes measures: 1) providing tax incentives for investments of at least $250 million in qualifying projects implemented by high investment companies; 2) exempting import duty, revenue replacement and excise duties, and business tax, including any withholding, business income, or other taxes in connection with covered dividends or interest payments; 3) exempting VAT on the establishment and construction phase of approved activities; and 4) exempting import duty during the establishment and construction phase, for specific tools, ...
