Big Data to Aid China Authorities’ Tax Evasion Crackdown

Tax authorities across China will increasingly use big data analytic resources to crack down on tax evasion by high-risk businesses and individuals, a top tax official said Wednesday.

Since last year tax authorities in China have stepped up investigations into high-earning individuals, particularly celebrities and online influencers. In 2022, they’ll also use big data and coordinated, targeted investigations to maximize revenue and reduce fraud.
