Bolivia Gazettes Decree Extending Import VAT Exemption, Zero-Rated VAT on Commercialization of Specified Capital Goods

The Bolivian Official Gazette Jan. 3 published Supreme Decree No. 5095, extending, through Dec. 31: 1) the VAT exemption for the import of capital goods and industrial plants destined for the agricultural, industrial, construction, and mining sectors; and 2) the zero-rated VAT for the commercialization in the domestic market of capital goods and industrial plants intended for the agricultural, industrial, construction, and mining sectors. The decree also states that, to qualify, the age of the capital goods and industrial plants must be less than or equal to ten years, and the documentation that proves such condition must be presented.
