Bolivia Joins Forum on Tax Transparency, Information Exchange

Bolivia is the latest country to join an international tax transparency and exchange forum that works to fight offshore tax evasion, the OECD said Friday.

The forum implements internationally agreed standards of exchange of information on request and automatic exchange of financial account information under the Common Reporting Standard.

The group—called the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes—also runs a capacity-building program to help members implement the standards and to help tax authorities use cross-border information sharing channels.

Bolivia joins 171 other countries already members of the forum—including 15 from Latin America.
