Bosnia and Herzegovina Federation BiH Upper House Considers Bill to Amend VAT Law

The Bosnian-Herzegovinian Upper House of Federation BiH (House of Peoples) March 27 accepted for consideration Bill No. 02-02-1-1829/24, to amend the VAT law. The bill includes measures to: 1) provide the right to a VAT refund for resident individuals on the purchase of their first residential property; 2) allow nonresident individuals to obtain a VAT refund on goods that they buy in the country and take out of the country, excluding certain goods; and 3) impose specific taxpayer penalties for the improper calculation, payment, and filing of VAT.
