The Botswana Unified Revenue Service Aug. 2 announced the filing period and exemption threshold for 2022 individual income tax returns. The announcement includes: 1) the filing period of between July 1 and Sept. 30; 2) the requirement of a tax certificate to be submitted at the time of filing a tax return; 3) the employer’s obligation to submit a withholding tax return; and 4) a filing exemption for individuals with annual gross income under 48,000 Botswanan pula (US$3,782) if the income is from a single employer and taxes are properly withheld.
