Botswana Tax Agency Issues Public Notice Announcing Amendments to VAT Act

The Botswana Unified Revenue Service May 10 issued a public notice announcing amendments to the VAT Act, effective May 3. The amendments include: 1) changes to the list of zero-rated items; 2) changes from VAT exemption to zero-rated VAT for specified items; and 3) expansion of the medical services VAT exemption to include medical services provided by private medical facilities.
