Brazil Congress Considers 2026 Budget Guidelines

The Brazilian National Congress April 15 accepted for consideration Bill No. 2/2025, on the 2026 Budget Guidelines. The bill includes a measure to increase the monthly minimum wage rate to: 1) 1,630 Brazilian reals (US$278.06) from 1,518 reals (US$258.95), for 2026; 2) 1,724 reals (US$296.85), for 2027; 3) 1,823 reals (US$313.89), for 2028; and 4) 1,925 (US$331.45), for 2029.
