Brazil Cuts Import Tax on Beans, Rice, Meat By Another 10%

The federal government has decided to reduce by another 10% the Import Tax rates on products such as beans, meat, pasta, biscuits, rice, construction materials, among others, within the common Mercosur Tax, the Economy Ministry this Monday.

  • Measure aims to reduce inflationary impacts resulting from the pandemic and the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the ministry says
  • Tax on the same items had already been reduced by 10% earlier in November 2021
  • Cut is valid until December 31, 2023
  • Reduction to be published in the Official Gazette on Tuesday
