Brazil added 81 items to the list of medical products eligible for an exemption from import tax, part of its effort to fight the coronavirus.
- Items covered include equipment used to produce pulmonary ventilators, as well as hospital equipment like carbon dioxide sensors and radiographic equipment.
- Brazil had already adjusted to zero the import tax rate on a number of medical products, announced April 16.
- The items added Thursday bring the total number of products with a zero import tax rate to 394, the Ministry of Economy’s statement said.
