Brazil House Approves Tax Reduction For Chemical Industry

Bill establishes lower transitional tax rates for chemical and petrochemical industries participating in a special tax regime until their migration to a new regime effective in 2027, Camara Noticias reports.

  • Text approved by the lawmakers Tuesday night will be sent to the Senate
  • Project approved limits tax waivers in 2026 to 2 billion reais
    • Another 1.1 billion reais will fund additional tax credits provided for in the legislation for petrochemical plants and chemical industries participating in the Special Regime for the Chemical Industry (Reiq), which will be extinguished at the end of the year
