Bulgaria Gazettes Decree Amending VAT Law

The Bulgarian Official Gazette Feb. 18 published Decree No. 57, transposing the most recent EU Directive to amend the VAT regime. The decree includes measures: 1) harmonizing the Bulgarian VAT act with EU legislation; 2) evaluating inconsistencies between Bulgarian and EU VAT legislation; 3) aligning Bulgarian VAT legislation with the rulings of the EU court; and 4) clarifying provisions relating to the application of a non-union regime, a union regime, and a remote regime.
