The Bulgarian Ministry of Finance June 6 posted online a draft bill to amend the 2022 state budget. The draft bill includes measures that would: 1) provide excise tax exemptions for electricity, liquefied petroleum gas, and natural gas; 2) introduce a reduced 9 percent VAT rate for central heating and natural gas supplies; 3) introduce a zero percent VAT rate on the supply of bread from July 1; 4) increase the tax relief for children to 6,000 Bulgarian leva (US$3,275) from 4,500 leva (US$2,456) per year, and for disabled children to 12,000 leva (US$6,550) from 9,000 leva (US$4,912) per year; ...
