California Tribes Cleared to Start Sports-Betting Ballot Push

California voters could decide in November whether to allow sports betting at tribal casinos and horse racing tracks under a ballot measure backed by Native American tribes.

The attorney general issued a title and summary for the measure on Tuesday, giving a coalition of tribes clearance to start gathering the 997,139 voter signatures they need to qualify the state constitutional amendment for the ballot.
