Canada wants to impose several new taxes on foreign digital corporations, tackle tax avoidance, and make changes to a teleworking deduction in a budgetary update unveiled Monday.
Ottawa expects to raise a fresh C$6.5 billion ($5 billion) over five years by applying sales tax, called the Goods and Services Tax, on three major areas of digital commerce and enforcing corporate income tax on all digital giants, the fall economic statement said.
