Canada has stopped sharing tax information with the Russian tax administration in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Canada’s tax authority said Thursday.
The suspension of tax cooperation is consistent with the federal government’s moves to isolate Russia from the Canadian economy and the international financial system, Hannah Wardell, spokeswoman for the Canada Revenue Agency, said in a statement.
It’s also consistent with Canada’s work in close coordination with other G7 tax administrations to limit financial resources available to Russia, Wardell said.
