The Canada Revenue Agency is investigating several cyberattacks in recent days compromising the private information of thousands of taxpayers.
The agency is working with police and privacy authorities after the agency’s website fell victim to three security incidents as of Friday, affecting the accounts of 5,500 people, Christopher Doody, an agency spokesman, said in an email Monday.
The incidents involve the online portals that individuals, businesses, and accountants use to receive tax information and file tax returns.
