Caribbean Netherlands Tax Agency Announces 2024 Tax Changes

The Caribbean Dutch Tax and Customs Administration Dec. 19 announced 2024 tax changes, effective Jan. 1, 2024. The announcement includes: 1) the abolition of the VAT integration levy and dividend exemption of US$5,000; 2) the tax reporting obligation when purchasing a home or business premises; 3) the increase in the tax-free threshold to US$20,424 from US$17,352 and the customary wage to US$40,848 from US$25,000; 4) the increase in the annual turnover limit for small entrepreneurs to US$30,000 from US$20,000; and 5) the introduction of a global minimum tax of 15 percent for permanent establishments (PEs) in the Caribbean Netherlands that ...
