Cayman Islands Gazettes Beneficial Ownership Transparency Act 2023

The Cayman Official Gazette Dec. 15 published Law No. 13/2023, the Beneficial Ownership Transparency Act, 2023. The law includes measures: 1) establishing rules for the identification of registrable beneficial owners; 2) establishing a beneficial ownership register, to be maintained with accurate and current information; 3) authorizing corporate services providers to issue restriction notices when legal persons fail to comply or provide false information; 4) creating a search platform to access information; 5) requiring the forwarding of correspondence by corporate services providers; and 6) setting rules on the issuance of further guidance.
