The Chilean Ministry of Finance June 11 announced a new additional employer pension contribution, enacted under Law No. 21,735/2025. The announcement includes that: 1) the additional 7 percent contribution will be phased in with an additional 1 percent for August remuneration added to employees’ usual contributions; 2) employers must report the additional contribution with social security contributions by the 13th of the month following remuneration, if made electronically, starting with August returns; and 3) the additional contribution will gradually increase to 8.5 percent by 2033.
