Chile Tax Agency Issues Resolution Establishing Requirements, Procedures to Request Reductions in Property Tax

The Chilean Internal Revenue Service April 24 issued Resolution No. 60, on requesting property tax reductions for occupied properties. The resolution includes measures: 1) allowing taxpayers to request property tax reductions for all annual periods in which the property was totally or partially occupied, without time limitation, provided continuous occupation during the requested period is proven; 2) stating that reductions don’t apply to periods already paid, except for outstanding balances; 3) clarifying that time limits and other restrictions that are incompatible with Article 73 of Law No. 21,806 don’t apply; 4) including as eligible applicants taxpayers previously granted, denied, or ...
