China’s Chongqing Eases Property Tax Rules for Pilot Program

The southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing, which has been conducting the property tax trials, announced that it has relaxed the rules for property tax collection so that some people buying their first homes will no longer have to pay the tax, the local government says in a statement dated Sept. 20.
