Coinbase Seeks Ruling It Doesn’t Infringe Authentication Patent

Coinbase Inc. filed a complaint against Dynapass Inc. seeking a declaratory judgment that it doesn’t infringe a user authentication patent and that the patent is invalid.

Coinbase alleges that Dynapass baselessly accused it of infringing the US Patent No. 6,993,658 by requiring two-factor authentication for its users, according to the complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California. Dynapass IP Holdings LLC is also a defendant.
