Companies Ponder Their Future in Australia After Tax Crackdown

Australia’s get-tough stance against multinationals they view as avoiding its taxes could prompt some companies to reassess the future of their businesses there.

Such rethinking could cause companies to pass along any increased taxes they’re forced to pay in the form of higher prices in Australia for their products, according to business groups. It could even prompt companies to reconsider plans for further investments in Australia or even to pull back on their existing businesses there, they said.
