Congress Chief Sees Colombian Tax Bill Raising 100% of Target

Colombian President Gustavo Petro has enough support from lawmakers to pass a tax bill that raises the full $5.6 billion in extra revenue that he is targeting, according to the head of congress.

“President Petro has achieved the largest parliamentary coalition any president has had at the beginning of his term,” Senator Roy Barreras said, in a phone interview. “Everyone knows that our priority from the beginning is tax reform.”
