Corporate Tax Exemptions Most Popular Incentive, OECD Data Says

Corporate income tax exemptions remain the most popular investment tax incentive instrument across most of the globe, data compiled by the OECD shows.

A new dashboard launched Thursday indicates exemptions outweigh reduced corporate income tax rates, accelerated tax allowance, enhanced tax allowances, and tax credits everywhere but in sub-Saharan Africa.

The dashboard, which compiles data previously collected by the OECD, is intended to “support evaluations on which incentives perform better than others,” to inform policymakers as they design tax incentives, Katharina Böhm, policy analyst at the OECD, said on a Thursday panel at the OECD’s Tax and Development ...
