A UK court issued a freezing order against three associated companies over what the country’s tax office alleges is a scheme to keep from paying certain required national insurance contributions.
Ducas Ltd., the company at the center of the alleged scheme, has a liability of £171.3 million ($218.3 million) for the employer national insurance contributions (NICs) at issue, the High Court of Justice’s Business and Property Courts of England and Wales said in granting His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs request for a freeze.
