The Croatian Ministry of Finance Sept. 25 opened a consultation on a draft bill to amend the VAT law. The draft bill includes measures that, effective Jan. 1, 2025, would: 1) increase the VAT registration threshold to 50,000 euros (US$54,554) from 40,000 (US$43,643); 2) apply VAT exemptions from other EU states in Croatia for taxpayers with annual turnover not exceeding 50,000 euros in Croatia and 100,000 euros (US$109,108) in the EU; 3) allow VAT exemptions applicable in other EU states for small businesses established in Croatia if their annual EU turnover doesn’t exceed 100,000 euros or the relevant threshold in ...
