Croatia Parliament Considers Bill to Extend Reduced VAT Rate on Heating-Related Supplies

The Croatian Parliament (Sabor) March 10 accepted for consideration Bill No. PZ 461, an emergency measure to extend until March 31, 2024, from March 31, 2023, the 5 percent reduced VAT rate for specific supplies related to heating. The bill is intended to continue measures contained in the autumn package, due to continued increased energy prices. The bill contains measures to apply the reduced rate to: 1) the delivery of natural gas, including delivery fees; 2) heating from thermal stations, including delivery fees; and 3) the delivery of firewood, pellets, briquettes, and wood chips.
