Cyprus Gazettes Decree Changing VAT Schedule, Reducing VAT Rate for Specified Supplies of Electricity

The Cypriot Official Gazette March 27 published Decree No. K.D.P. 167/2026, changing the VAT schedule for specified supplies of electricity. The decree includes measures decreasing to 5 percent, from 8 percent, the reduced VAT rate for supplies of electricity to private residences, public assistance recipients, and thermal energy storage systems subject to the domestic use tariff. The new rate applies to supplies of electricity from May 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027. [Cyprus, Official Gazette, 03/27/26]
