Cyprus Tax Agency Announces Deadline Extension for Electing VAT Exemption for Commercial Real Estate Rentals

The Cypriot Tax Department Jan. 16 announced an extension to March 31, 2026, from Dec. 31, 2025, of the deadline for lessors to elect to exempt rental income from VAT, for commercial real estate leases entered into on or before Nov. 13, 2017. The announcement also provides that lessors must submit the election within 30 days of signing a new lease, from April 1. [Cyprus, Tax Department, 01/16/26]
