Cyprus Tax Agency Announces Expiration of Zero-Rated VAT on Medical Supplies Due to Coronavirus

The Cypriot Tax Department Jan. 5 announced the expiration of the zero-rated VAT, and the corresponding new rates, on specific medical products and services used in the treatment of coronavirus. The announcement includes increases: 1) to 19 percent from a zero-rate, on non-exempt deliveries of in vitro diagnostic medical technology products and related services; and 2) to 5 percent from a zero-rate, on deliveries of vaccines.
