Cyprus Tax Agency Issues Circular Clarifying VAT Rates for Admissions to Various Events

The Cypriot Tax Department Oct. 8 issued Circular No. 6/2025, clarifying VAT rates for admissions to various events. The circular clarifies that: 1) a reduced 5 percent rate applies to admissions to cultural events, such as performances, circuses, fairs, amusement parks, concerts, museums, zoos, and cinemas; 2) a 9 percent rate applies to restaurant and catering services; 3) the 9 percent rate applies to ticket prices that include restaurant or catering services or poured drinks, regardless of whether the purchaser uses all of the transaction’s elements; 4) if the admission and the restaurant or catering services are charged separately, the ...
