Czech Republic Expects $109 Million from Digital Tax in 2021

The Czech Republic expects 2.5 billion koruna ($109 million) in proceeds from its proposed digital tax, according to a 2021 draft national budget obtained by Bloomberg Tax.

The controversial tax, which hasn’t yet been approved by Parliament, is designed to hit tech giants like Facebook Inc. and Alphabet Inc.'s Google.

The Czech Finance Ministry said Wednesday that it had submitted the draft budget for approval by the government and released a detailed break-down of anticipated costs and revenue Thursday night.
