Czech Republic Mulls 3 Percent to 5 Percent Tax on Digital Giants

The Czech Republic is working on a plan to impose a tax on the advertising income of digital companies, a government official said.

The tax could be imposed on income of digital companies from “other services” as well, Czech Minister of Finance Alena Schillerova said in an interview transcript published on the Czech Ministry of Finance website April 25.

She said the tax would range from 3 percent to 5 percent, with 5 percent being “more likely.”
