Czech Republic to Waive Fines for Virus-Linked Late Tax Filings

The Czech Republic will lift fines for coronavirus-related late filing of corporate income tax returns and value-added tax reporting.

It will also extend by three months a filing deadline for personal income tax returns, which are generally due April 1, the government announced Sunday.

  • The extension for personal income tax will be granted to everyone, but businesses hoping to avoid fines for late filing will have to demonstrate “reasons in any way connected to coronavirus,” the Czech Ministry of Finance said.
