Czechia Passes Tax Measures to Aid Ukraine, Ease Inflation

Donations to Ukraine, its organizations, and residents would be deductible to up to 30% of the donor’s tax base, under a bill the Czech parliament passed Wednesday.

Humanitarian aid and donations to benefit Ukraine’s defense efforts would both qualify.

  • In addition, Ukrainian war refugees with families wouldn’t be taxed on housing aid received in 2022 from their employers.
  • The measure now heads to the president for his signature.
  • In a separate vote, the Senate also approved a four-month decrease in excise tax imposed on standard unleaded gasoline and diesel fuel, by 1.5 Czech koruna ($0.06)
