Denmark Commits to Finalizing EU Energy Tax Bill by November

Denmark promised to do its “utmost” to finalize by November a controversial bill that would overhaul the way the European Union taxes fuel and electricity.

Denmark, which holds the EU’s rotating presidency, said it’s “convinced of the urgent need to reach a political agreement” on the bill, known as the Energy Taxation Directive, in a note dated June 30 and seen by Bloomberg.
