The Danish Ministry of Finance Aug. 20 announced that the general electricity tax will be temporarily abolished in 2026 and 2027. The announcement includes that: 1) the reduction is the equivalent of reducing the tax to the EU minimum rate for individuals, which is 0.008 Danish kroner (US$0.001) per kilowatt-hour (kWh); 2) for both 2026 and 2027, the general electricity tax rate abolished will be 0.727 kroner (US$0.11) per kWh, and the reductions will be 0.719 kroner (US$0.11) per kWh, excluding VAT, for households and non-VAT registered businesses; 3) households with electric heating, including heat pumps, will pay the EU ...
