Denmark Tax Agency Clarifies Individual Income Tax Liability for Bank Account Deposits

The Danish Customs and Tax Administration Sept. 8 posted online Eastern High Court Decision No. SKM2025.495.OLR, clarifying individual income tax liability for bank account deposits. The taxpayer, an individual, was registered as residing in Denmark until January 2017. The taxpayer made deposits into his father’s Danish bank account in 2016 and 2017. The Tax Agency, District Court, Tax Appeals Board found the taxpayer liable for tax in Denmark on the deposits.
